1. Requirements - Define performance requirements, business process procedures and transaction measurements
2. Specifications - Review test environment architecture (hardware specs) and prepare data
3. Design - Develop script and scenario design documentation
4. Coding - Scripting the design, debug scripts and scenarios
5. Execution - Execute and monitor the performance scenarios
6. Analysis - Analyze results and determine bottlenecks and degradation issues
7. Reporting - Create a summary report of findings
